Situation
The customer required faster access to more meaningful business intelligence reports on their mobile performance in order to act more strategically in the face of a mobile market experiencing explosive growth. Currently available reports were not insightful enough and were based on mobile network data that was up to 2 months old. A business intelligence tool was required to provide board members and senior finance, marketing, channel, product and operations executives with accurate, up-to-date reports.
Key Requirements
The customer required an application to report on:
- Financial & physical results for all mobiles products
- Board and Senior Executive reporting
- Mobile reporting for media releases and the ACCC
The application had to measure and report on:
- Usage Measures (e.g. Call Minutes, Call Revenue)
- Rate Plan Fees (e.g. Monthly Charges)
- Physical Measures (e.g. Services in Operation)

Prima designed and built a BI solution.
This solution now processes and manages:
- 70+ Published Weekly/Monthly Reports & Extracts
- Tens of millions mobile network events each weekday
- Over 45 Gb of Reference Data daily
- 24x7 availability
- 700+ Users
- Maintain historical summary reports
- Keep historical mobile network event and reference files
Results
- Revenue is now visible 2-3 days after a mobile network event occurs, instead of 2 weeks after
- Updated reports are now produced Daily, Weekly and Monthly
- Results accurately reconcile to the customer's General Ledger on a Monthly basis
- The solution is easy to use with online reports distributed through the customer's intranet
